Department Profile
Electronics Engineering is the core branch of engineering that builds the basis and foundation for all other branches of engineering by establishing the hardware requirements of all systems. Telecommunication Engineering deals with information, data communication and transfer across locations and distances. The growing importance of digital and wireless communication has strongly increased the signi¬cance of this stream of knowledge, because it imparts the necessary skills to decode, encode, encrypt and compress information to suit the need. The course involves hands on intensive training including designing, testing, development and maintenance of telecommunication systems, mobile computing, satellite communications, etc.
Mission
- The mission of the department is to pursuit continuous quality improvement, stimulating the degree of meaningful work and supporting faculty and staff in satisfying in those whom we serve. The department of Electronics & Telecommunication also supports the mission of Savitribai Phule Pune University, Pune through its undergraduate programs by providing the students with appropriate curriculum and educational experiences.
- The mission of the department of ECE is to provide the students an environment of academic freedom that will insure the exchange of ideas and the dissemination of knowledge in this discipline through effective teaching. It infuses the scientific temper in the students towards the research in Electronics and communication engineering. It strives to establish incubation centres for research in Micro electronics, Embedded Systems, Communications and Signal Processing with an offer for consultancy services to industries.
